Shape a typeface of your own.
Pick one of five finished typefaces and push it until it sounds like you. Keep scrolling.
Pull it wide and the letters keep their shape.
The editor redraws each curve as the word spreads out, so a wide R looks like someone drew it that wide.
The editor stays quiet so the type can be loud.
Your words sit large in the middle of the screen. Weight, width, slant, contrast, roundness and serifs live in one panel beside them, and the finer controls wait in a drawer until you open it.
Close the tab whenever you like. It saves as you go and opens where you left off.
Select the text to edit it. Drag it to change weight and width.

The editor, with its four tabs. Click them.
Lean it forward and open up the contrast.
The thick strokes get thicker, the thin ones thin out, and the same six letters start to look like a magazine cover.
Serifs grow out of the letters you already have.
A little gives the word a soft foot to stand on. Keep pulling and you get a slab.
Every font here starts from one of these: Letterhead Sans, Letterhead Editorial, Letterhead Antique, Letterhead Serif or Letterhead Condensed. Each one bends its own way.

Download it when it sounds right.
You get OTF, TTF and WOFF2 files with kerning built in. Everything runs in your browser, and you can start free. Letterhead Editorial is based on Spectral by Production Type and keeps the SIL Open Font License. On a paid plan, fonts you make from the rest are yours to sell.
